Despite being violently struck by his (Akṣa's) arrows, he (Hanumān) emitted a roar like the thunderous sound of a cloud. That Hanumān (māruti) then swiftly leapt into the sky, his appearance terrifying due to the vigorous flinging of his arms and thighs.
