वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-4, chapter-65, verse-22

ततः शैलाग्रशिखरे वामो हनुरभज्यत ।
ततो हि नामधेयं ते हनुमानिति कीर्त्यते ॥२२॥
22. tataḥ śailāgraśikhare vāmo hanurabhajyata ,
tato hi nāmadheyaṃ te hanumāniti kīrtyate.

tataḥ hi nāmadheyam te hanumān iti kīrtyate
22. Then, on a mountain peak, your left jaw was broken. For that reason, indeed, your name is called Hanuman.
