ततः कियत्पौरुषं मे पुरुषैः पाल्यते मही ॥२३॥

23. tātena mokṣito baddho na svavīryādahaṃ yataḥ .

Since I, when bound, was freed by my father (tāta) and not by my own power (vīrya), what manliness (puruṣa) do I then possess? The earth (mahī) is protected by men (puruṣa).
