मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-101, verse-2

देवदैत्योरगादीनां रूपस्थानानि पूर्ववत् ।
वेदेभ्य एव भगवानकरोत्कमलोद्भवः ॥२॥
2. devadaityoragādīnāṃ rūpasthānāni pūrvavat .
vedebhya eva bhagavānakarotkamalodbhavaḥ.

2. The divine lord, the lotus-born (Brahmā), fashioned the forms and abodes of the gods, daityas, uragas, and other such beings, just as he had done before, deriving them directly from the Vedas.
