मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-101, verse-13

तानबाधन्त सहिताः सपत्ना दैत्यदानवाः ।
राक्षसाश्च तथा युद्धं तेषामासीत्सुदारुणम् ॥१३॥
13. tānabādhanta sahitāḥ sapatnā daityadānavāḥ .
rākṣasāśca tathā yuddhaṃ teṣāmāsītsudāruṇam.
13. tān abādhanta sahitāḥ sapatnāḥ daityadānavāḥ
rākṣasāḥ ca tathā yuddham teṣām āsīt sudāruṇam
13. Their united rivals, the Daityas, Dānavas, and Rākṣasas, oppressed them (the gods). And thus, a very terrible war ensued between them.
