मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-101, verse-11

तेषां कश्यपपुत्राणां प्रधाना देवतागणाः ।
सात्त्विका राजसास्त्वेते तामसाश्च मुने गणाः ॥११॥
11. teṣāṃ kaśyapaputrāṇāṃ pradhānā devatāgaṇāḥ .
sāttvikā rājasāstvete tāmasāśca mune gaṇāḥ.
11. teṣām kaśyapaputrāṇām pradhānāḥ devatāgaṇāḥ
sāttvikāḥ rājasāḥ tu ete tāmasāḥ ca mune gaṇāḥ
11. O sage, among the sons of Kaśyapa, the principal groups of deities are these: those embodying goodness (sattva), those embodying passion (rajas), and those embodying ignorance (tamas).
