महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-9, chapter-41, verse-39

एवं वसिष्ठापवाहो लोके ख्यातो जनाधिप ।
आगच्छच्च पुनर्मार्गं स्वमेव सरितां वरा ॥३९॥
39. evaṁ vasiṣṭhāpavāho loke khyāto janādhipa ,
āgacchacca punarmārgaṁ svameva saritāṁ varā.

āgacchat ca punaḥ mārgam svam eva saritām varā
39. janādhipa evam vasiṣṭhāpavāhaḥ loke khyātaḥ ca

39. O king, this diversion (apavāha) caused by Vasiṣṭha became well-known in the world. And then, the best of rivers, Sarasvati, returned to her own course.
