महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-9, chapter-41, verse-24

तस्य तद्वचनं श्रुत्वा कृपाशीलस्य सा सरित् ।
चिन्तयामास कौरव्य किं कृतं सुकृतं भवेत् ॥२४॥
24. tasya tadvacanaṁ śrutvā kṛpāśīlasya sā sarit ,
cintayāmāsa kauravya kiṁ kṛtaṁ sukṛtaṁ bhavet.

cintayāmāsa kauravya kim kṛtam sukṛtam bhavet

24. O Kauravya, hearing those words of the compassionate Vasiṣṭha, that river pondered, "What merit (sukṛta) might be achieved?"
