महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-9, chapter-41, verse-3

वैशंपायन उवाच ।
विश्वामित्रस्य चैवर्षेर्वसिष्ठस्य च भारत ।
भृशं वैरमभूद्राजंस्तपःस्पर्धाकृतं महत् ॥३॥
3. vaiśaṁpāyana uvāca ,
viśvāmitrasya caivarṣervasiṣṭhasya ca bhārata ,
bhṛśaṁ vairamabhūdrājaṁstapaḥspardhākṛtaṁ mahat.

bhārata bhṛśam vairam abhūt rājan tapaḥspardhākṛtam mahat
3. Vaiśampāyana said: 'O descendant of Bharata (bhārata), O King, indeed, a great enmity arose between the sage Viśvāmitra and Vasiṣṭha, caused by rivalry in their ascetic practices (tapas).'
