महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-7, chapter-149, verse-36

एवमुक्त्वा ततः प्रायात्कर्णं प्रति जनेश्वर ।
किरञ्शरशतांस्तीक्ष्णान्विमुञ्चन्कर्णमूर्धनि ॥३६॥
36. evamuktvā tataḥ prāyātkarṇaṁ prati janeśvara ,
kirañśaraśatāṁstīkṣṇānvimuñcankarṇamūrdhani.

kiran śaraśatān tīkṣṇān vimuñcan karṇamūrdhani
36. jameśvara evam uktvā tataḥ karṇam prati prāyāt

36. O lord of men, having spoken thus, he then advanced towards Karṇa, showering hundreds of sharp arrows and releasing them upon Karṇa's head.
