महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-6, chapter-70, verse-24

अथैषां छिन्नधनुषां भल्लैः संनतपर्वभिः ।
चिच्छेद समरे राजञ्शिरांसि निशितैः शरैः ।
ते हता न्यपतन्भूमौ वज्रभग्ना इव द्रुमाः ॥२४॥
24. athaiṣāṁ chinnadhanuṣāṁ bhallaiḥ saṁnataparvabhiḥ ,
ciccheda samare rājañśirāṁsi niśitaiḥ śaraiḥ ,
te hatā nyapatanbhūmau vajrabhagnā iva drumāḥ.
24. atha eṣām chinnadhanuṣām bhallaiḥ
sannataparvabhiḥ ciccheda samare rājan
śirāṃsi niśitaiḥ śaraiḥ te hatāḥ

24. Then, O King, in that battle, with sharp arrows and well-jointed lances, he severed the heads of those whose bows had been cut. Struck down, they fell to the ground like trees shattered by a thunderbolt.
