महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-6, chapter-57, verse-23

अथैनं पञ्चविंशत्या क्षिप्रमेव समर्पयत् ।
अश्वांश्चास्यावधीद्राजन्नुभौ तौ पार्ष्णिसारथी ॥२३॥
23. athainaṁ pañcaviṁśatyā kṣiprameva samarpayat ,
aśvāṁścāsyāvadhīdrājannubhau tau pārṣṇisārathī.

aśvān ca asya avadhīt rājan ubhau tau pārṣṇisārathī

23. Then, O king, he swiftly struck him (Aśvatthāman) with twenty-five (arrows), and killed his horses, as well as both his charioteer and the rear-guard (pārṣṇisārathī).
