Having thus pondered, the divine Mahendra, the slayer of Pāka, then, as the bestower of boons, having honored them, bestowed upon Kubera the sovereignty (ādhipatyam) over all Yakṣas and wealth, similarly upon Vaivasvata (Yama) sovereignty over the ancestors (Pitṛs), and also upon Varuna sovereignty over the waters.
