महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-54, verse-28

वृते तु नैषधे भैम्या लोकपाला महौजसः ।
प्रहृष्टमनसः सर्वे नलायाष्टौ वरान्ददुः ॥२८॥
28. vṛte tu naiṣadhe bhaimyā lokapālā mahaujasaḥ ,
prahṛṣṭamanasaḥ sarve nalāyāṣṭau varāndaduḥ.
28. vṛte tu naiṣadhe bhaimyā lokapālāḥ mahaujasas
prahṛṣṭamanasaḥ sarve nalāya aṣṭau varān daduḥ
28. But when the King of Niṣadha (Nala) was chosen by Damayantī (Bhaimī), all the greatly powerful protectors of the worlds (lokapālas), with joyous minds, gave eight boons to Nala.
