महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-54, verse-22

मनोविशुद्धिं बुद्धिं च भक्तिं रागं च भारत ।
यथोक्तं चक्रिरे देवाः सामर्थ्यं लिङ्गधारणे ॥२२॥
22. manoviśuddhiṁ buddhiṁ ca bhaktiṁ rāgaṁ ca bhārata ,
yathoktaṁ cakrire devāḥ sāmarthyaṁ liṅgadhāraṇe.

yathoktam cakrire devāḥ sāmarthyam liṅgadhāraṇe
22. O Bhārata, the gods, as stated, demonstrated purity of mind, intellect, devotion (bhakti), and affection, along with their capacity for assuming forms (liṅgadhāraṇa).
