महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-214, verse-31

बिभेद स शरैः शैलं क्रौञ्चं हिमवतः सुतम् ।
तेन हंसाश्च गृध्राश्च मेरुं गच्छन्ति पर्वतम् ॥३१॥
31. bibheda sa śaraiḥ śailaṁ krauñcaṁ himavataḥ sutam ,
tena haṁsāśca gṛdhrāśca meruṁ gacchanti parvatam.

tena haṃsāḥ ca gṛdhrāḥ ca merum gacchanti parvatam
31. With his arrows, he pierced Mount Krauñca, the son of Himavat. Through that opening, swans and vultures now travel to Mount Meru.
