महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-14, chapter-17, verse-16

अत्यर्थं बलवानूष्मा शरीरे परिकोपितः ।
भिनत्ति जीवस्थानानि तानि मर्माणि विद्धि च ॥१६॥
16. atyarthaṁ balavānūṣmā śarīre parikopitaḥ ,
bhinatti jīvasthānāni tāni marmāṇi viddhi ca.

16. The exceedingly powerful vital heat, intensely inflamed in the body, breaks the vital centers. And know those to be the vulnerable points (marmāṇi).
