महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-55, verse-29

एवमेतद्यथात्थ त्वं ब्राह्मण्यं तात दुर्लभम् ।
ब्राह्मण्ये सति चर्षित्वमृषित्वे च तपस्विता ॥२९॥
29. evametadyathāttha tvaṁ brāhmaṇyaṁ tāta durlabham ,
brāhmaṇye sati carṣitvamṛṣitve ca tapasvitā.
29. evam etat yathā āttha tvam brāhmaṇyam tāta durlabham
| brāhmaṇye sati ca ṛṣitvam ṛṣitve ca tapasvitā
29. tāta tvam yathā evam etat āttha brāhmaṇyam durlabham

29. O dear one, this is indeed as you have stated: the state of a brahmin (brāhmaṇya) is difficult to attain. Once brahminhood is established, the state of a seer (ṛṣitva) follows, and with the state of a seer, spiritual austerity (tapasvitā).
