महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-55, verse-28

ब्राह्मण्यं काङ्क्षसे हि त्वं तपश्च पृथिवीपते ।
अवमन्य नरेन्द्रत्वं देवेन्द्रत्वं च पार्थिव ॥२८॥
28. brāhmaṇyaṁ kāṅkṣase hi tvaṁ tapaśca pṛthivīpate ,
avamanya narendratvaṁ devendratvaṁ ca pārthiva.

28. O Lord of Earth, O King, you indeed long for the state of a Brahmin (brāhmaṇya) and for asceticism (tapas), having rejected both kingship and even the status of Indra (devendratva).
