महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-94, verse-6

द्विषन्तं कृतकर्माणं गृहीत्वा नृपती रणे ।
यो न मानयते द्वेषात्क्षत्रधर्मादपैति सः ॥६॥
6. dviṣantaṁ kṛtakarmāṇaṁ gṛhītvā nṛpatī raṇe ,
yo na mānayate dveṣātkṣatradharmādapaiti saḥ.

na mānayate dveṣāt kṣatradharmāt apaiti saḥ
6. yaḥ nṛpatī raṇe kṛtakarmāṇam dviṣantam gṛhītvā,

6. That king (nṛpati) who, having captured in battle an enemy who has performed (hostile) deeds, does not show him due respect out of hatred, he deviates from the constitutional duty (dharma) of a warrior (kṣatriya).
