महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-94, verse-11

प्रिये नातिभृशं हृष्येदप्रिये न च संज्वरेत् ।
न मुह्येदर्थकृच्छ्रेषु प्रजाहितमनुस्मरन् ॥११॥
11. priye nātibhṛśaṁ hṛṣyedapriye na ca saṁjvaret ,
na muhyedarthakṛcchreṣu prajāhitamanusmaran.

na muhyet arthakṛcchreṣu prajāhitam anusmaran

11. A ruler should not rejoice excessively in pleasant circumstances, nor should they be greatly distressed by unpleasant ones. They should not become bewildered amidst financial or administrative difficulties, always remembering the welfare of their subjects.
