महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-78, verse-32

भीष्म उवाच ।
तस्माद्द्विजातीन्रक्षेत ते हि रक्षन्ति रक्षिताः ।
आशीरेषां भवेद्राज्ञां राष्ट्रं सम्यक्प्रवर्धते ॥३२॥
32. bhīṣma uvāca ,
tasmāddvijātīnrakṣeta te hi rakṣanti rakṣitāḥ ,
āśīreṣāṁ bhavedrājñāṁ rāṣṭraṁ samyakpravardhate.
32. bhīṣmaḥ uvāca tasmāt dvijātīn rakṣeta te hi rakṣanti
rakṣitāḥ āśīḥ eṣām bhavet rājñām rāṣṭram samyak pravardhate
32. bhīṣmaḥ uvāca: tasmāt dvijātīn rakṣeta.
hi te rakṣitāḥ (santaḥ) rakṣanti.
eṣām āśīḥ rājñām bhavet,
rāṣṭram samyak pravardhate.
32. Bhishma said: Therefore, one should protect the twice-born (dvijātīn), for they, when protected, offer protection (to society). Their blessings become beneficial for kings, and the kingdom prospers properly.
