महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-78, verse-2

भीष्म उवाच ।
अब्राह्मणानां वित्तस्य स्वामी राजेति वैदिकम् ।
ब्राह्मणानां च ये केचिद्विकर्मस्था भवन्त्युत ॥२॥
2. bhīṣma uvāca ,
abrāhmaṇānāṁ vittasya svāmī rājeti vaidikam ,
brāhmaṇānāṁ ca ye kecidvikarmasthā bhavantyuta.

2. Bhishma said: It is a Vedic injunction that the king is the owner of the wealth belonging to non-Brahmins. This also applies to any Brahmins who engage in improper activities (vikarma).
