महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-278, verse-18

आनतेनाथ शूलेन पाणिनामिततेजसा ।
पिनाकमिति चोवाच शूलमुग्रायुधः प्रभुः ॥१८॥
18. ānatenātha śūlena pāṇināmitatejasā ,
pinākamiti covāca śūlamugrāyudhaḥ prabhuḥ.

pinākam iti ca uvāca śūlam ugrāyudhaḥ prabhuḥ
18. atha amitatejasā ugrāyudhaḥ prabhuḥ pāṇinā

18. Then, with the trident bent by his hand, the Lord (Prabhu), whose weapon was fierce (Ugrāyudha) and who possessed immeasurable splendor, named the trident 'Pināka'.
