महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-218, verse-35

स्थापितो ह्यस्य समयः पूर्वमेव स्वयंभुवा ।
अजस्रं परियात्येष सत्येनावतपन्प्रजाः ॥३५॥
35. sthāpito hyasya samayaḥ pūrvameva svayaṁbhuvā ,
ajasraṁ pariyātyeṣa satyenāvatapanprajāḥ.
35. sthāpitaḥ hi asya samayaḥ pūrvam eva svayambhuvā
ajasram pariyāti eṣaḥ satyena avatapan prajāḥ
35. hi asya samayaḥ pūrvam eva svayambhuvā sthāpitaḥ

35. Indeed, its (the sun's) fixed course was established by Svayambhu (Brahman) himself long ago. This (sun) constantly moves, sustaining living beings by its inherent nature (dharma), emitting heat and light.
