महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-203, verse-10

ब्राह्मणो ब्राह्मणैः श्राव्यो राजन्यः क्षत्रियैस्तथा ।
माहात्म्यं देवदेवस्य विष्णोरमिततेजसः ।
अर्हस्त्वमसि कल्याण वार्ष्णेयं शृणु यत्परम् ॥१०॥
10. brāhmaṇo brāhmaṇaiḥ śrāvyo rājanyaḥ kṣatriyaistathā ,
māhātmyaṁ devadevasya viṣṇoramitatejasaḥ ,
arhastvamasi kalyāṇa vārṣṇeyaṁ śṛṇu yatparam.

kṣatriyaiḥ tathā māhātmyam devadevasya
viṣṇoḥ amitatejasaḥ arhaḥ tvam

10. kalyāṇa tvam arhaḥ asi yat param
vārṣṇeyam śṛṇu māhātmyam devadevasya
viṣṇoḥ amitatejasaḥ brāhmaṇaḥ brāhmaṇaiḥ
śrāvyaḥ rājanyaḥ kṣatriyaiḥ tathā
10. This divine glory (māhātmya) of Vishnu, the God of gods, whose splendor is immeasurable, should be heard by a Brahmin from Brahmins, and similarly by a Kṣatriya from Kṣatriyas. You, O fortunate one (kalyāṇa), are indeed worthy; therefore, listen to this supreme (param) Vārṣṇeya teaching.
