कस्माद्गृह्णासि मे वस्त्रं शिष्या भूत्वा ममासुरि ।
समुदाचारहीनाया न ते श्रेयो भविष्यति ॥८॥

kasmādgṛhṇāsi me vastraṁ śiṣyā bhūtvā mamāsuri ,

Devayani said: "Why do you take my garment, you demoness, when you are supposed to be my disciple? For one so devoid of good conduct, there will be no good fortune for you."
