महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-73, verse-16

तामपृच्छत्स दृष्ट्वैव कन्याममरवर्णिनीम् ।
सान्त्वयित्वा नृपश्रेष्ठः साम्ना परमवल्गुना ॥१६॥
16. tāmapṛcchatsa dṛṣṭvaiva kanyāmamaravarṇinīm ,
sāntvayitvā nṛpaśreṣṭhaḥ sāmnā paramavalgunā.
16. tām apṛcchat saḥ dṛṣṭvā eva kanyām amaravarṇinīm
sāntvayitvā nṛpaśreṣṭhaḥ sāmnā paramavalgunā
16. The best of kings, upon seeing that girl, who possessed the beauty of a celestial nymph, immediately consoled her with exceedingly gentle words and then questioned her.
