महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-27, verse-8

अथापश्यदृषीन्ह्रस्वानङ्गुष्ठोदरपर्वणः ।
पलाशवृन्तिकामेकां सहितान्वहतः पथि ॥८॥
8. athāpaśyadṛṣīnhrasvānaṅguṣṭhodaraparvaṇaḥ ,
palāśavṛntikāmekāṁ sahitānvahataḥ pathi.
8. atha apaśyat ṛṣīn hrasvān aṅguṣṭhodaraparvaṇaḥ
palāśavṛntikām ekām sahitān vahataḥ pathi
8. Then he saw short sages, the size of a thumb's joint, carrying a single palāśa leaf-stalk together on the path.
