महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-27, verse-35

पतत्रीणां तु गरुड इन्द्रत्वेनाभ्यषिच्यत ।
तस्यैतत्कर्म सुमहच्छ्रूयतां भृगुनन्दन ॥३५॥
35. patatrīṇāṁ tu garuḍa indratvenābhyaṣicyata ,
tasyaitatkarma sumahacchrūyatāṁ bhṛgunandana.
35. patatrīṇām tu garuḍaḥ indratvena abhyaṣicyata
tasya etat karma sumahat śrūyatām bhṛgunandana
35. But Garuḍa was consecrated to the kingship of birds. O son of Bhrigu, listen to this very great deed of his.
