महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-143, verse-14

आपत्सु यो धारयति धर्मं धर्मविदुत्तमः ।
व्यसनं ह्येव धर्मस्य धर्मिणामापदुच्यते ॥१४॥
14. āpatsu yo dhārayati dharmaṁ dharmaviduttamaḥ ,
vyasanaṁ hyeva dharmasya dharmiṇāmāpaducyate.
14. āpatsu yaḥ dhārayati dharmam dharmaviduttamaḥ
vyasanam hi eva dharmasya dharmiṇām āpat ucyate
14. He who, as the best among the knowers of natural law (dharma), upholds natural law (dharma) even in calamities – it is indeed said that the misfortune befalling those who uphold natural law (dharma) is the very calamity of natural law (dharma) itself.
