महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-111, verse-28

स्वयंजातः प्रणीतश्च परिक्रीतश्च यः सुतः ।

28. The first six, who are heirs with family ties, are: the self-born son, the adopted son, the purchased son, the son of a remarried woman, the son of an unmarried girl, and the one born to an independent woman.
