महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-111, verse-26

मृगाभिशापान्नष्टं मे प्रजनं ह्यकृतात्मनः ।
नृशंसकारिणो भीरु यथैवोपहतं तथा ॥२६॥
26. mṛgābhiśāpānnaṣṭaṁ me prajanaṁ hyakṛtātmanaḥ ,
nṛśaṁsakāriṇo bhīru yathaivopahataṁ tathā.
26. mṛga-abhiśāpāt naṣṭam me prajanam hi akṛta-ātmanaḥ
nṛ-śaṃsa-kāriṇaḥ bhīru yathā eva upahatam tathā
26. Due to the deer's curse, O timid one, my power of procreation (prajanam) is indeed lost, as if destroyed, for me, who am an unrefined self (akṛtātman) and committed that cruel act.
