योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-7, chapter-144, verse-45

नियतिर्नायकश्चैव ब्रह्मतश्चाङ्गमात्मना ।
स्वाङ्गेन संयमयति करेणेव निजं करम् ॥ ४५ ॥
niyatirnāyakaścaiva brahmataścāṅgamātmanā ,
svāṅgena saṃyamayati kareṇeva nijaṃ karam 45

45. Destiny (niyati) and the ultimate director (nāyaka) are indeed both an aspect originating from the supreme reality (brahman) through its own nature (ātman). It controls itself with its own limb, just as one controls one's own hand with another hand.
