दूरोदस्तात्मबुद्धीनां जयत्यसुमतामिह ॥ १३ ॥

tu aham anyaḥ ayam anyaḥ eva iti vāsanā jayati

"I am distinct, and this other (person) is certainly distinct" — such a deeply ingrained mental impression (vāsanā) prevails here among ignorant embodied beings (asumat), especially those whose understanding of the true self (ātman) is far removed.
