दुष्प्रेक्ष्यं जरठं दीनं हीनं गुणपराक्रमैः ।

Indeed, a predatory greed (gardha) approaches an old man (vṛddhakam) who is unsightly, decrepit, miserable, and lacking in good qualities and valor, just as a vulture approaches a barren or decaying tree.
