योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-1, chapter-22, verse-24

जराजह्नुसुतोद्युक्ता मूलान्यस्य निकृन्तति ।
शरीरतीरवृक्षस्य चलत्यायुषि सत्वरम् ॥ २४ ॥
jarājahnusutodyuktā mūlānyasya nikṛntati ,
śarīratīravṛkṣasya calatyāyuṣi satvaram 24
24. jarā jahnusutā-udyuktā mūlāni asya nikṛntati
| śarīratīravṛkṣasya calati āyuṣi satvaram ||
24. āyuṣi satvaram calati (sati),
jarā jahnusutā-udyuktā asya śarīratīravṛkṣasya mūlāni nikṛntati.
24. Old age (jarā), active like the daughter of Jahnu (Ganga), swiftly cuts off the roots of this body, which is like a tree standing on a riverbank, as one's life (āyus) rapidly moves towards its end.
