योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-1, chapter-22, verse-10

कोऽहं वराकः किमिव करोमि कथमेव च ।
तिष्ठामि मौनमेवेति दीनतोदेति वार्धके ॥ १० ॥
ko'haṃ varākaḥ kimiva karomi kathameva ca ,
tiṣṭhāmi maunameveti dīnatodeti vārdhake 10
10. kaḥ aham varākaḥ kim iva karomi katham eva ca
tiṣṭhāmi maunam eva iti dīnatā udeti vārdhake
10. aham varākaḥ kaḥ kim iva karomi ca katham eva
maunam eva tiṣṭhāmi iti dīnatā vārdhake udeti
10. Who am I, a wretched being? What indeed can I do? And how can I simply remain silent? Thus, helplessness arises in old age.
