वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-6, chapter-49, verse-27

एकेनाह्ना त्वसौ वीरश्चरन्भूमिं बुभुक्षितः ।
व्यात्तास्यो भक्षयेल् लोकान् संक्रुद्ध इव पावकः ॥२७॥
27. ekenāhnā tvasau vīraścaranbhūmiṃ bubhukṣitaḥ ,
vyāttāsyo bhakṣayel lokān saṃkruddha iva pāvakaḥ.
27. ekena ahnā tu asau vīraḥ caran bhūmim bubhukṣitaḥ
vyāttāsyaḥ bhakṣayet lokān saṃkruddhaḥ iva pāvakaḥ
27. tu ekena ahnā asau vīraḥ bubhukṣitaḥ vyāttāsyaḥ

27. And in that one day, that hungry hero (Kumbhakarṇa), roaming the earth with an open mouth, would devour all beings as if he were a greatly enraged fire.
