ततः परमसंभ्रान्तो रावणो वाक्यमब्रवीत् ।
विवृद्धः काञ्चनो वृक्षः फलकाले निकृत्यते ॥२४॥

vivṛddhaḥ kāñcano vṛkṣaḥ phalakāle nikṛtyate.

24. Then, exceedingly agitated, Rāvaṇa spoke these words: "A fully grown golden tree is cut down precisely when it is time to bear fruit."
