वाल्मीकि-रामायणम् vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-6, chapter-49, verse-23

ध्रुवं लोकविनाशाय पौरस्त्येनासि निर्मितः ।
तस्मात्त्वमद्य प्रभृति मृतकल्पः शयिष्यसि ।
ब्रह्मशापाभिभूतो ऽथ निपपाताग्रतः प्रभोः ॥२३॥

23. dhruvaṃ lokavināśāya paurastyenāsi nirmitaḥ ,
tasmāttvamadya prabhṛti mṛtakalpaḥ śayiṣyasi ,
brahmaśāpābhibhūto'tha nipapātāgrataḥ prabhoḥ.

23. "You were surely created by the Eastern One (Brahma) for the destruction of the world. Therefore, from this day forward, you shall sleep as if dead." Then, overcome by Brahma's curse, he fell down before the lord (Brahma).
