अनुज्ञातोऽथ वन्दित्वा दक्षिणां गुरवे ततः ॥१४॥

After acquiring one, two, or even all the Vedas directly from his teacher (guru), and having received permission, he should then salute his teacher (guru) and offer a dakṣiṇā (fee).
