मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-111, verse-26

पूर्वमासीन्महीपालः सुदेव इति विश्रुतः ।
तस्याभूच्च सखा राज्ञो धूम्राश्वस्य सुतो नलः ॥२६॥
26. pūrvamāsīnmahīpālaḥ sudeva iti viśrutaḥ .
tasyābhūcca sakhā rājño dhūmrāśvasya suto nalaḥ.
26. pūrvam āsīt mahīpālaḥ sudevaḥ iti viśrutaḥ tasya
abhūt ca sakhā rājñaḥ dhūmrāśvasya sutaḥ nalaḥ
26. Formerly, there was a king (mahīpālaḥ) named Sudeva, who was widely renowned. And his friend, King Dhūmrāśva's son, was Nala.
