महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-9, chapter-42, verse-11

कारणं श्रुतमस्माभिः शापश्चैव श्रुतोऽनघे ।
करिष्यन्ति तु यत्प्राप्तं सर्व एव तपोधनाः ॥११॥
11. kāraṇaṁ śrutamasmābhiḥ śāpaścaiva śruto'naghe ,
kariṣyanti tu yatprāptaṁ sarva eva tapodhanāḥ.
11. kāraṇam śrutam asmābhiḥ śāpaḥ ca eva śrutaḥ anaghe
kariṣyanti tu yat prāptam sarve eva tapodhanāḥ
11. anaghe asmābhiḥ kāraṇam śrutam ca eva śāpaḥ śrutaḥ
tu sarve eva tapodhanāḥ yat prāptam kariṣyanti
11. O sinless one, we have heard both the reason and the curse (śāpa). But all the ascetics (tapodhana) will certainly do what is proper.
