महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-9, chapter-40, verse-35

ततस्तालकेतुर्महाधर्मसेतुर्महात्मा कृतात्मा महादाननित्यः ।
वसिष्ठापवाहं महाभीमवेगं धृतात्मा जितात्मा समभ्याजगाम ॥३५॥
35. tatastālaketurmahādharmasetu;rmahātmā kṛtātmā mahādānanityaḥ ,
vasiṣṭhāpavāhaṁ mahābhīmavegaṁ; dhṛtātmā jitātmā samabhyājagāma.
35. tataḥ tālaketuḥ mahā-dharma-setuḥ
mahā-ātmā kṛta-ātmā mahā-dāna-nityaḥ
vasiṣṭha-apavāham mahā-bhīma-vegam
dhṛta-ātmā jita-ātmā sam-abhya-ājagāma
35. tataḥ tālaketuḥ mahādharma-setuḥ
mahātmā kṛtātmā mahādānanityaḥ
dhṛtātmā jitātmā mahābhīma-vegam
vasiṣṭhāpavāham samabhyājagāma
35. Then Tālaketu, who was a great upholder of natural law (dharma), noble-souled (mahātman), one who had controlled his inner self (ātman), constantly engaged in great acts of giving (dāna), possessed a resolute mind (ātman), and had conquered his lower self (ātman), approached the carrier of Vasiṣṭha, which moved with tremendous, dreadful speed.
