महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-9, chapter-40, verse-19

तेन ते हूयमानस्य राष्ट्रस्यास्य क्षयो महान् ।
तस्यैतत्तपसः कर्म येन ते ह्यनयो महान् ।
अपां कुञ्जे सरस्वत्यास्तं प्रसादय पार्थिव ॥१९॥

19. pārthiva tena hūyamānasya asya te rāṣṭrasya mahān kṣayaḥ.
tasya tapasaḥ etat karma yena hi te mahān anayaḥ (asti).

19. By him (Baka), through the sacrificial offerings being made in this kingdom of yours, there is great destruction. This is the act (karma) of his ascetic practice (tapas), by which indeed a great misfortune has come upon you. O ruler (pārthiva), propitiate him in the water-grove (kuñja) by the Sarasvati river.
