महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-8, chapter-52, verse-17

अहं वः पाण्डुपुत्रेभ्यस्त्रास्यामीति यदब्रवीत् ।
अनृतं तत्करिष्यन्ति मामका निशिताः शराः ॥१७॥

17. ahaṁ vaḥ pāṇḍuputrebhyastrāsyāmīti yadabravīt ,
anṛtaṁ tatkariṣyanti māmakā niśitāḥ śarāḥ.

17. yat (saḥ) "aham vaḥ pāṇḍuputrebhyaḥ trāsyāmi" iti abravīt,
tat māmakāḥ niśitāḥ śarāḥ anṛtam kariṣyanti.

17. What he said, 'I will protect you from the sons of Pāṇḍu,' my sharpened arrows will make that a lie.
