महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-7, chapter-104, verse-33

ततो व्यायच्छतामस्त्रैः पृथक्पृथगरिंदमौ ।
मृदुपूर्वं च राधेयो दृढपूर्वं च पाण्डवः ॥३३॥
33. tato vyāyacchatāmastraiḥ pṛthakpṛthagariṁdamau ,
mṛdupūrvaṁ ca rādheyo dṛḍhapūrvaṁ ca pāṇḍavaḥ.
33. tataḥ vyāyacchatām astraiḥ pṛthak pṛthak arindamau
mṛdu-pūrvam ca rādheyaḥ dṛḍha-pūrvam ca pāṇḍavaḥ
33. tataḥ arindamau pṛthak pṛthak astraiḥ vyāyacchatām.

33. Then, the two subduers of foes (arindamau) engaged in battle with their weapons, each separately. Rādhā's son (Rādheya) began with gentleness, while the son of Pāṇḍu (Pāṇḍava) began with force.
