महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-4, chapter-20, verse-4

दुःशासनस्य पापस्य यन्मया न हृतं शिरः ।
तन्मे दहति कल्याणि हृदि शल्यमिवार्पितम् ।
मा धर्मं जहि सुश्रोणि क्रोधं जहि महामते ॥४॥
4. duḥśāsanasya pāpasya yanmayā na hṛtaṁ śiraḥ ,
tanme dahati kalyāṇi hṛdi śalyamivārpitam ,
mā dharmaṁ jahi suśroṇi krodhaṁ jahi mahāmate.
4. duḥśāsanasya pāpasya yat mayā na
hṛtam śiraḥ tat me dahati kalyāṇi
hṛdi śalyam iva arpitam mā dharmam
jahi suśroṇi krodham jahi mahāmate
4. The fact that the head of that wicked Duḥśāsana was not severed by me — that, O blessed one (Kalyāṇī), burns me in my heart like an arrow (śalya) fixed within. Therefore, O fair-hipped one (Suśroṇī), do not abandon natural law (dharma); instead, abandon anger, O great-minded one (Mahāmate).
