महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-4, chapter-20, verse-23

धर्मे स्थितास्मि सततं कुलशीलसमन्विता ।
नेच्छामि कंचिद्वध्यन्तं तेन जीवसि कीचक ॥२३॥
23. dharme sthitāsmi satataṁ kulaśīlasamanvitā ,
necchāmi kaṁcidvadhyantaṁ tena jīvasi kīcaka.

icchāmi kañcit vadhyantam tena jīvasi kīcaka
23. I am always established in my natural law (dharma), endowed with good lineage and character. I do not wish for anyone to be killed; it is for that reason, Kīcaka, that you remain alive.
